The environmental crisis has become a serious issue. the us finally managed to shake their dependence on fossil fuels but it came too late. In the past the major companies reliant on fossil fuels and supplying them were reluctant to change over to more environmentally friendly fuel sources. They waited so long that to many greenhouse gases were released into the air and when they finally did convert it was to late. There were steps proposed that, if they had been implemented sooner, would have helped to slow down climate change and allowed more time to work out additional solutions. The US government should have put in place stricter policies regarding emissions on vehicles, as well as gradually requiring households to switch to more efficient, greener appliances, as well as attempting to lower prices on these appliances. All at once these changes would have been overwhelming and it was because of this the government did not want to make these changes mandatory, but spread out over time these would have helped by allowing more time to improve environmental conditions.
