Environmental concerns: Officials say energy development's effects can be minimized with local collaboration
This article was posted on the Dickinson Press and is in response to energy consumption and its impact on the environment . The article addresses the viewpoint that I'm sure many people have harbored at some point that when we built something or mine for a resource, in this case the article deals with fracking, it is unrealistic to think that we can completely eliminate all environmental impact. No matter what the techniques we come up with there will always be a repercussion to what we do. You can never really get rid of all the signs that we have been there. The article talks about how when they drill to get natural gas(fracking) they actually have wheels on the equipment so that they can move it around and limit the harm that is done. North Dakota Department of Health Environmental Health Section Chief Dave Glatt says that it is very difficult to manage the balance between efficiently producing natural gas to use for energy and following environmental protocols. This will end up being a problem many industries are facing when it comes to harvesting natural resources. As nonrenewable resources continue to dwindle it will become harder and harder to obtain what is needed without overdrawing. To combat this we are going to need to devise better methods and techniques to better utilize what we already have.
